Fish that looks like Hitler

Meet George, the pet fish who looks like Hitler.

The five-year-old common goldfish has recently developed an uncanny resemblance to the evil German dictator.

And George's owner Deborah Cochrane said there are other noticeable similarities between her fish and Hitler.

And he loves to occupy his tank.

Office worker Deborah, from Belfast, said: "Like Hitler, George is vegetarian - he loves his peas - and of course the moustache.

"George was named after the art duo Gilbert and George. Unfortunately, Gilbert died and George got a new friend, a white goldfish called Shirley. Both Shirley and Gilbert died in almost identical situations. There was only ever one suspect.

"George's colour changed a lot over the years, he was originally brown, George is five, but he has stayed a glorious orange over the past year or two and that's when the moustache developed.
"He refuses to eat fish food. He will only eat vegetables, and particularly loves his peas.
"Whenever I walk into the same room as George I notice he often has a fin raised and worry he is trying to indoctrinate me, but I am just being silly. Surely he is just waving 'hello'?"

However, to put Deborah's mind at ease, there may be a more scientific explanation for George's moustache.
Vet Fiona Macdonald, secretary of the Fish Vetinary Society, said: "It is a black pigment that is formed as result of the fish's body fighting an infection.
"It might or might not be permanent."
