E.Tree: Face of sci-fi alien ET spotted in tree trunk by Wiltshire pensioner

Retired engineer Ken Dobson received the shock of his life when he spotted Steven Spielberg creation ET staring back at him while chopping up some wood in his garden.

Bespectacled Mr Dobson had just finished gathering some fire wood when he came across the loveable alien's face etched into one of the freshly cut logs.
The OAP, from Chiseldon in Wiltshire, said he was 'amazed' by the bark's likeness to the googly eyed extra-terrestrial.
'I was just carving this wood up with my chainsaw and this was one of the last logs of the big pile,' he said.
'We dusted it off and said, "Gosh look at that, it's ET". I was amazed - the likeness really is uncanny.
'We've been cutting wood for years, and we've never found anything like this before.'
ET is considered to be one of the greatest sci-fi films of all-time, holding the record for the highest-grossing film ever made for over 11 years.

Mr Dobson's wife Janet added: 'We've seen the stories in newspapers before when people have found faces in their toast or in wood.
'It was going to be for the fire but we aren't going to burn it now - we would feel bad putting it on the fire.'
The couple now plan to divide the piece of wood into three and share it with their two sons.
It seems ET may never have phoned home after all.
